This output will consist of guidelines for policy makers at university level and at regional/governmental level how to maximise the potential of MOOCs for the educational system and for society.

MOOC Strategies of European Institutions

The report presents the results of a MOOC survey amongst European Higher Education Institutions conducted end 2016 – early 2017. It also discusses some initial trends in European MOOC strategies based on similar surveys in 2014 and 2015.

Next Steps

  • An annual surveys amongst high education institutions about their strategies of applying MOOCs. EADTU will extend the current European survey on institutional strategies on MOOCs onto the potential use for refugees and those (potentially) left behind. T
  • In addition, 14 policy makers of regional and governmental bodies will be interviewed about their educational policies in relation to the social dimension and how MOOCs can indeed contribute to this. These interviews will also include questions related to possible intervention schemes at cross-institutional level to overcome possible barriers in MOOC provision or refugees and those (potentially) left behind.
  • Interview results and the survey results are going to be discussed in three different focus groups. The results of these interviews and focus groups are expected in December 2018
